A couple of Mississippi lottery players hit the jackpot Tuesday as two individuals purchased the winning tickets for the Mississippi Match 5 and the Mega Millions drawing.
The winning Mississippi Match 5 ticket was purchased at the Scarlet Pearl Casino on the coast, totaling a $60,000 prize. The jackpot for Thursday’s Match 5 resets to $50,000.
As for the $10,000 Mega Millions prize, the winning ticket was purchased at Murphy Oil in Holly Springs. If that player had purchased the Megaplier for another dollar, they could have tripled their prize to $30,000.
The jackpot for Friday’s Mega Millions drawing is at $64 million while tonight’s Powerball drawing is at $35 million.
Summer of Fun
Two more drawings remain. The next drawing occurs Monday, August 22, with a top prize of a Recteq 700 pellet grill. The last drawing of the summer occurs on September 1, with a top prize of a 2022 Tracker bass boat. No purchase is necessary and participants must be 21 or older to enter.
