VICKSBURG, MISS— Your 2015 Miss Mississippi is Miss University of Southern Mississippi Hannah Roberts.
Roberts, a two-time Miss USM, was a double winner in the competition, for both talent and swimsuit.
Roberts says that now she hopes to expand her platform, Pages of Love. Pages of Love is a program that brings books to boys and girls clubs and homeless shelters; she hopes to add children’s homes, hospitals, and other outlets to that list.
Those who have worked with Roberts during her time as Miss University of Southern Mississippi say she is a great pick for Miss Mississippi, as well as Miss America.
“Hannah is a rarity among her peers, grounded in her values yet open-minded,” said Wynde Fitts, Associate Dean of Students at The University of Southern Mississippi. “She is an exceptional young woman not because of the accolades she’s received but for the way in which she has achieved them. I’ve met very few people like Hannah whose talent and intellect are matched with a genuine caring heart.”
Roberts has earned the title of “Chemistry Queen” at Southern Miss, brought on by her exceptional grades, passion for learning, and her pink safety glasses she wears in the laboratory. Roberts was set to start the University of Mississippi Medical Center for medical school this fall, but that will now be delayed one year as she pursues her duties as Miss Mississippi.
