Jail Time for Jackson Woman for Stealing From Residents

JACKSON, Miss– Daisy Shannon, 49, is headed to the state pen for two charges of exploitation of a vulnerable person, says Attorney General Jim Hood.

Having a parent in the nursing home is tough enough, but imagine someone that works there stealing from them. It’s called exploitation, and Daisy Shannon of Jackson is going to jail for it. Shannon admits to taking about $2,000  from people that were living at the center she worked at in 2012. Shannon is going to jail for a year, will have to be supervised for two years after that, plus pay $500 to the victims and $500 to the attorney general’s office for covering the costs of the investigation.

The case was investigated by the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
