On Friday afternoon, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke in Greenville.
During her trip, Harris was greeted by Congressman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) and Greenville Mayor Erick Simmons before stopping by Joycee’s Fabrics and Sewing Center, where she talked to community members about small businesses in the community.
After her stop there, she delivered remarks regarding the current administration’s impact on small businesses and communities within the Magnolia State.
“We know that part of why that is important is, of course, the subject today: Small businesses need to reach their customers. They need to buy supplies, even run their cash register. And all of that will be helped by having access to high-speed Internet,” Harris said during the speech. “And so, we are fighting every day to ensure that small businesses have access to capital and the banking services they need to thrive. And that is why we are all here today.”
