In a swift turn of events, Yolett McPhee-McCuin is staying in Oxford.
The Ball Out reported around 1 p.m. CT on Tuesday afternoon that the Ole Miss women’s basketball coach had been hired away by the University of Georgia. But then on Tuesday night, McPhee-McCuin went to Twitter to say otherwise:
“I truly believe in what we’ve built here at Ole Miss. Keith (Carter) and Jen (Saxon) are committed to our program. Our visions are aligned and to me that’s important. If you look at my track record we have been able to show consistent success over a period of time. The Sip is the move and I’d like to continue to stabilize our program! So renew your season tickets, sit tight and let my staff and I continue to work. #No Ceilings”

This past season, McPhee-McCuin led Ole Miss to its best campaign since 2006-2007, going 23-9 before falling to a now-Sweet 16 bound South Dakota team.
