The Mississippi Department of Education announced the implementation of an online tutoring program in math and English Language Arts in 121 school districts.
The program, called Web-Based High-Dosage Tutoring, will be available in late March at no cost to students in grades 3-12, educators, and families in the districts that opted in before March 9. Unlimited online tutoring will be available 24/7 for free to individuals until September 30, 2024.
Teachers and administrators also benefit from the program, as they will have the ability to monitor individual student progress, assign activities, and schedule sessions during and after school.
Parents can also use the program to schedule additional tutoring sessions for their child(ren) outside of class time.

The $10.7 million funding for the Web-Based High-Dosage Tutoring was presented to the MDE by PAPER for the American Relief Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) III.

More than $49 million is expected to be invested into Mississippi schools as a part of ESSER III’s COVID-19 relief efforts to support student safety and learning.
Three additional programs were included in the ESSER III during its release by the MDE in February, with several already in partial use by several districts.
