On Thursday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 6,416 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi.
The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases to 744,023. With the confirmation of 32 additional deaths, 11,202 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. As of Tuesday, 1,370 people with confirmed infection were hospitalized.
With roads freezing in the northern part of the state, MSDH facilities in eight counties will open later than usual on Friday morning.
Due to predicted hazardous road conditions, all Mississippi State Department of Health facilities in the following counties will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022:
Coahoma
De Soto
Marshall
Panola
Quitman
Tallahatchie
Tate

Currently, 1,491,756 in Mississippi are fully vaccinated. This does not include booster doses.
