JACKSON, Miss. –An inmate at the Hinds County Detention Center hurt two workers on duty Thursday night.
The female guards were locked in POD A after having contact with the inmate. But a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s office said at no time were they held as hostages.
The Pod was placed on lock down and SWAT teams were sent in to restore order. The injured officers were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be okay. Hinds County Sheriff’s investigators say surveillance video is being looked at to figure out exactly what happened.
