BILOXI, Miss.- A woman was arrested Thursday for stealing $1,100 from a Burger King she was managing. Police took 52-year-old Tina Marie Gilleland into custody on one felony embezzlement charge.
The Sun Herald reports that police initially responded to a “suspicious circumstance” on Pass Road back in May of 2014 at the Burger King where Gilleland was the manager.
The restaurant was found opened, unlocked with the lights on, on a day that Gilleland was supposed to open.
They determined that she had unlocked the store, taken the $1,100 in cash, and then left. Police couldn’t find her for a year until Thursday when they were tipped off and picked her up at a Greyhound Bus Station in Biloxi.
Her bond was set at $50,000, and she’s held in the Harrison County Jail.
