JACKSON, Miss. – State Rep. Esther Harrison has died. Longtime friend Constance Slaughter-Harvey said Harrison died at a Memphis hospital today, which is her 69th birthday.
She said Harrison had been on kidney dialysis for 12 years and has spent the past several weeks in and out of the hospital.
Harrison represented House District 41 in Lowndes County and is former chair of the House State Library Committee.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
