Lane Kiffin’s “get your popcorn ready” comment may not have paid off with an Ole Miss victory Saturday against Alabama, but the Rebel head coach won’t have to pay for popcorn anytime soon.
The Rebel head coach tweeted his thanks to the Ole Miss and Alabama fans that decided to send him plenty of popcorn following the team’s 41-21 loss to the Crimson Tide Saturday.

Kiffin shared that after he made the comment to CBS’ Jamie Erdahl during the pregame interview, he told offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, “I just said something really stupid, you better score a lot of points.” The Rebels trailed 28-0 at halftime, and Kiffin joked with Lebby saying “looks like we didn’t plug the microwave in buddy.”
The Rebels are getting their popcorn ready for what they hope will be a bounce back game this weekend at home against Arkansas, and the first 5,000 fans will get free popcorn inside the stadium.
