BRANDON, Miss.–Driving off into Robinhood Lake Monday morning is what killed a man in Rankin County, near Brandon. The apparent accident happened around 7 a.m. and people who saw the truck go into the lake and tried to dive in and pull the man out were unable to get to him.
A dive crew was eventually called in. They were able to find the vehicle and attach a line to pull it out. The man was dead inside the truck.
Described as a man in his 60s, investigators were not releasing his name because they had not notified his family.
Police believe he may have been going too fast.
