Funeral arrangements have been set for Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance.
Vance passed away Wednesday at the age of 63. It was confirmed by the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office that Vance died from “natural causes due to COVID-19.”
Vance had been diagnosed with the virus in late July. Reports have stated that he was fully vaccinated.

Vance will be laid to rest at Johnson Cemetery in Jackson.
A member of the law enforcement community for over 30 years, Vance served as the Chief of the Jackson Police Department before he was elected Sheriff in 2019.
