The Waveland Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
Chief Mike Prendergast said Officer Katie Cash lost her life Saturday in an off-duty traffic accident on Highway 603.
Sadly, Cash, a 33-year-old mother of two, had just graduated from the police academy Friday night.
Prendergast said, “We ask that you keep the entire Waveland Police Department in your prayers and especially her two little girls and family. We will release more information as it becomes available however; right now, your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.”
