The Great River Utility Operating Company has acquired several water and wastewater systems in Mississippi. Northern District Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley told SuperTalk Mississippi this morning that these were small systems that were having problems.
“We’re proud to get that case through the PSC and get these systems acquired so that we can get good quality service out to the customers who really were the ones who were suffering from failing water systems and wastewater systems throughout the state. Many of those who only had a handful of customers and had been really neglected over the years,” Presley explained during an interview with Paul Gallo.
The company plans to invest more than $8-million for water and wastewater system improvements in Mississippi. They’ll serve about 6,800 connections across the state.
