The Mississippi Highway Patrol’s Labor Day Enforcement Period concluded this morning at 12:01, and the numbers from the weekend aren’t great.
Over the course of the holiday weekend, the MHP issued 9,426 citations, including 184 DUIs, 519 seatbelt citations, and 110 child restraint citations. 90% of the citations were speeding tickets, MHP Captain Johnny Poulos said on today’s episode of The JT Show.
Unfortunately, there were also seven fatalities and 47 injuries reported.
