Earlier this week, Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney joined The JT Show to talk about what the insurance industry is doing to help people get through the pandemic.
“We have made about a $62 million reduction over a two-month period for people with automobile insurance in the state, and that’s all the different carriers,” Chaney said.
That $62 million in insurance relief plus a recent announcement from State Farm will combine to save Mississippians over $100 million.
“Those discounts…were pretty big, and along comes State Farm,” Chaney explained. “They have reduced their rates by 9.5 percent for the remainder of the year. That’s over $100 million just on automobile rate reductions.”
