Fourth Escaped Hinds County Inmate Back in Custody

JACKSON, Miss.- The fourth escaped inmate from the Hinds County jail is back in custody.

Hinds County Sheriff’s Department said, Kevin Holmes, 17, turned himself in to the jail about noon Wednesday.

Holmes, Tyree Bailey, 17, Airick Toins, 16, and Cornelius Carter, 16, climbed through a broken window on one of the upper level floors using tied together blankets to climb down and escape last Thursday.

Bailey was arrested Sunday. Toins and Carter were caught Friday morning, police said.

Authorities said Bailey was arrested Nov. 11 on an armed robbery charge. Carter was arrested March 6 and charged with aggravated assault on an officer. Toins was arrested Jan. 14 on an aggravated assault charge, and Holmes had been in jail since May 3, 2014, on an armed robbery charge.

Sheriff Tyrone Lewis told WAPT, the inmates will face additional charges, including destruction of county property and escape.
