Ole Miss head coach Kermit Davis announced on Tuesday that sophomore wing Luis Rodriguez will undergo surgery to repair a fracture in his wrist. Rodriguez has been sidelined since November 27 with a foot injury he suffered in shootaround before a win over Penn State in Brooklyn.
The team decided to redshirt Rodriguez a few weeks after knee surgery, but he recently returned to practice and suffered his latest setback. Davis noted that if Rodriguez were currently healthy and playing in game action, the wrist ailment is something he could play through until the end of the season, but with him being sidelined for the remainder of the year, they elected to expedite the process with surgery on Friday.
