Make-A-Wish Mississippi grants a wish every 4 days, thanks to the collective force of donors, volunteers and doctors who make the impossible possible. April 29th is World Wish Day to help celebrate all the life-changing wishes they have granted and the many more still to come.
Vera Johnson with Make a Wish Mississippi joined Rebecca Turner with Good Things to encourage you to get involved. Plus, Lily and her mom Ashley aslo shared their Make a Wish Mississippi story.
Lily is a 9 year old middle child with a big sister (Ava) and a little brother (Cameron). She is homeschooled and enjoys reading and playing with friends. She also loves singing and playing piano or drums at her church.
Lily was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a pediatric brain tumor, in 2016. She underwent surgery and a year of treatment at Oschnser Hospital in New Orleans. After her treatment, our family went to Florida for her Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World.Lily’s favorite part of the trip was being at Give Kids the World (not part of Disney) which is a village specifically for Wish kids full of fun activities and special things. She rode the unicorn (her favorite animal) on their carousel countless times. Lily also fell in love with Dinosaur Mini-Golf at GKTW. She and her sister played SEVERAL rounds of golf throughout the week.
