LAUREL, Miss.–Child pornography possession has sent 54-year-old Wayne McLain to prison for 10 years after he pleaded guilty to the charge this week, said Atty. Gen. Jim Hood. McLain was found with DVDs and CDs containing sexually explicit images of children hidden in a pillow case on his bed when cops busted him.
“Our investigation showed the defendant was downloading hundreds of images of child porn onto his computer and sharing those images through peer to peer networks,” said Hood.
Hood said his office’s Cyber Crime Unit made the arrest, with assistance from Laurel Police, as part of Mississippi’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
McLain was sentenced by Judge Billy Joe Landrum in Jones County Circuit Court to 25 years, with 15 suspended and five years post release supervision. He also has to pay $1,000 to the crime victim compensation fund, complete a community service project and register as a sex offender when he gets out.
