McDaniel Ends Speculations, Begins Re-Election To Mississippi Senate

JACKSON, Miss. – Republican Chris McDaniel wants  a third term in the Mississippi Senate.    “I have spent a great deal of time with my family and closest friends coming to this decision,” McDaniel said in a written statement.

The Thursday announcement ends speculation that McDaniel might run for lieutenant governor or some other statewide office.  “I am honored by the hundreds of personal calls and thousands of messages I have received asking me to seek higher office,” McDaniel wrote.  “However, I believe the best possible decision I can make for my family and the conservative movement in Mississippi is to seek re-election to the Mississippi State Senate and continue to build a solid foundation for conservatives to come together across the state.”
