JACKSON, Miss. – Republican Delbert Hosemann filed qualifying papers Monday morning to run for a third term as Mississippi Secretary of State.
“There are a lot of things I still want to get done,” Hosemann said. “We began working, as you know on an SEC primary. I think that’s a great thing for Mississippi. I want to see that done. We’ve done a lot of things on acquisitions on the coast I want to finish down there. And we want to re-write the election laws.”
Hosemann, 67, is the first to enter the race for secretary of state. The candidates’ qualifying deadline is Friday, February 27.
