SEC football is known for its incredible atmosphere, and no place in the conference exemplifies that more than a trip to Tiger Stadium to met the LSU Tigers. This Saturday will be the first trip for Coach Joe Moorhead, and he knows that the Tiger fans will make an already difficult game even more so. Moorhead spoke to the local media on Monday about this weekend’s top 25 matchup, set for a 6 PM kickoff in Death Valley.
As you heard Moorhead say, from a statistical standpoint, this game showcases two very evenly matched team. The early looks say LSU is a little more efficient on offense, MSU a bit better on defense. All the signs point to a tough, hard hitting matchup, with the outcome likely to be a low scoring one. This strikes me as a game where a lot of cliches will be in play, “line of scrimmage league”, “most physical team will win”, “game will be won in the trenches”. We’ll talk about that and a lot more all week on SportsTalk Mississippi and the Thunder & Lightning Podcast.
