Mississippi State scrimmaged under the lights of Davis Wade Stadium Wednesday night, wrapping up fall camp and beginning the transition into game preparation for the season opener against Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, September 1st. Head coach Joe Moorhead spoke with the media after the scrimmage and seem pleased with how his team performed overall.
Moorhead also spoke publicly for the first time following the arrest of reserve offensive lineman Michael Story on misdemeanor charges of aggravated cruelty to a cat or dog. Moorhead said he learned of the arrest Saturday morning and the suspension of the redshirt junior went into effect immediately upon that discovery. Moorhead said “the discipline of this will be handled accordingly.”
Mississippi State will take Thursday off, then return to the practice fields on Friday. Moorhead will meet with the media on Monday afternoon for his first game week press conference as head coach of the Bulldogs.
