Back to Jacket Weather: Canadian Air to Blame for Cold Blasts

JACKSON, Miss.–Cold air is back for today and especially tonight, when some of the northern counties could see teens for lows going into Friday morning. Air coming in from Canada is to blame.

Highs today will range from 38 north to 55 south and on the coast.

“Tonight’s low are definitely gonna dip down. We get a little Canadian air into the area,” said Mark McAllister, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “Lows will be from the teens in the norther section, to the lower and middle 20s central and south.”

That’s pipe-busting cold, so remember to leave water dripping and cover outside pipes.

Sunday another Canadian front will come in and bring highs down again into the 30s north, to the upper 40s south.

McAllister said it may warm up for the beginning of the week, but with that is some possible rain, and after that a really cold Wednesday, with highs in the low to mid 30s.
