TUPELO, Miss.–Accused of killing his wife and four other people, including her relatives in Georgia, Thomas Jesse Lee was caught Monday inb Mississippi. Police were able to take him quietly at a Tupelo bus station.
The bodies were found Saturday in Troupe County, Ga. Since then, Lee has been wanted and his picture has gone up across the country and on social media.
When he showed up in Tupelo, he asked a local pastor for help.
“The church got him a bus ticket. He was given a bride to the bus station in Tupelo,” said Troupe County Sheriff James Woodruff.
Woodruff said once Lee left and the pastor realized who he had just helped, he tipped off the police.
“He contacted Mississippi authorities that went to the bus station and were able to arrest him.”
Lee is in the Lee County jail. When he gets back to Georgia, he face five counts of murder.
