Tuesday night, the McComb City Board of Mayor and Selectmen met for the first time since the controversial meeting two weeks ago when a 3-1 vote removed the state flag from all city-owned property before two of the selectmen arrived for the meeting.
It was the largest crowd for a board meeting in McComb in years, and was marked by many moments of contention between board members, including over an hour of remarks near the beginning of the meeting by Ward 3 Selectman Albert Eubanks, during which he made claims of a conspiracy against his presentation, talked about what he referred to as McComb’s “racist past”, and was then declared out of order by the Mayor, who asked the Assistant Chief of Police to remove the selectman from the meeting.
There were many other moments of contention, and you can see them in the video of the meeting for yourself…including the one selectman (Ward 4 Selectman Donovan Hill) didn’t acknowledge the opening prayer or the Pledge of Allegiance to the US flag.
