Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing speaks to our SuperTalk Southwest station about the impact of the murders from over the weekend. Deputy William Durr was the first person killed. Seven other people were also murdered.
The suspect, Willie Corey Godbolt, was shot. Sheriff Rushing says it looks like that shot came from a member of the victims’ families.
Deputy Durr’s cruiser has been turned into a memorial outside the Lincoln County Courthouse. Flowers cover the roof and hood of the car.
