NESHOBA COUNTY, Miss.–Imagine your grandmother taking a trip without telling you where she’s going, and leaving her pills behind. That happened to a Mississippi family this weekend. Thanks to technology, the family is less worried today. Here are some news briefs to make this sunny Martin Luther King Day even brighter:
TWO SISTERS W ALZHEIMERS
This is the story of two sisters, both with Alzheimers, who decided to take a trip. And their family was worried to death. Victoria Floor is 59. Her sister Etoy Evans is 72. They both took off together Friday from Neshoba County Friday morning. They left their meds behind. Where they were going? Well, they were stopped on I-65 near Nashville. When police ran their tage, WTOK reports that’s when they found out the ladies were missing. They’re back home. Safe.
MAGEE HOLD UP
Desperate enough to point a gun in the face of a clerk at the Fast Mart on Hwy. 49 in Magee Friday night about 9:30, police still still looking for a white guy, 5 ft.4, orange pants and a white shirt when he did the hold-up. He walked away with money. If you know who he is or where to find him, call Magee Police or PM the detectives on Facebook.
SHOT ABOVE THE EYE
Dr. King had a dream of equality and of non-violence. Frequently some people in the City of Jackson take the other route to solve their problems and that’s how a 15-year old ended up shot just above his left eye Saturday night. He is in some serious trouble. The police say that bullet wound could kill him and he’s in the hospital at UMMC. Corderious Tysha Fountain is in jail on an aggravated assault charge.
COLUMBUS POLICE SHOT AT
Columbus. Police were shot at Sunday morning. The cops saw a couple of guys run into an apartment and got a warrant. They came back and arrested two people. Charges were expected Tuesday.
PHILADELPHIA FUGITIVE
Wanted in Philadelphia, Mississippi, caught in Mountain Home, Arkansas, Dennis Tyrell Miller. He didn’t show up for court on a murder charge, and apparently knows how to pick a really nice place to run off to.
DURANT MURDER
Durant. There was a murder there this weekend. It happened Friday, the person died Sunday. No ID yet.
LEDINGHAM CAUGHT
Caught by a canine name Kilo, Ryan Ledingham. They got him Friday about 5 p.m. at Paul B. Johnson State Park. He’s accused of kidnapping his girlfriend last week, then running from the cops.
