RICHLAND, Miss. – Richland High School was put on lock-down Friday morning after police received information about a “threatening rumor.”
“What it is, one student that does go there, ex-boyfriend threatened her via text message. But he does not go to school there and has not been on school property,” said Richland Police Department Spokesperson Allison Clark.
She said Friday’s lock-down was done as a precaution. “There was never a threat to any of the students.”
Richland High remained open Friday after the lock-down was lifted. But parents who wished to pick up their children were allowed to do so.
