JACKSON, Miss. – As Mississippi braces for the first deep freeze of the New Year, the Mississippi Department of Transportation has launched a new website focused on winter weather preparedness.
“We just want people to be prepared. We offer a one stop place for people to go to find out how to be prepared for winter weather condition,” explained MDOT Spokesman Jason Scott.
The website, www.GoMDOT.com/winter provides users, among other things, winter driving safety and car care tips. “They can find information about how to prepare the vehicle before winter weather sets in. Also information about how to create an emergency car care kit, if the worse was to happen and you are stranded on the side of the road,” Scott said.
Along with tips and ideas to help you get ready, MDO allows users to submit their own preparation plans directly from the website.
