PASCAGOULA, — The federal Environmental Protection Agency has awarded the city of Pascagoula with $400,000 dollars in brownfield assessment grants.
The funds will be used to inventory property at the Central Business District and the Pascagoula River Waterfront. During inventory, abandoned property will be assessed in order to determine potential and existing damages to the environment.
Once the assessment is complete the city will be able to seek additional funding to perform an actual cleanup.
