CORINTH, Miss.–There are more corruption arrests expected to be announced at a noon news conference today in Alcorn County. State Auditor Stacey Pickering promised in his speech after the arrest of Corrections Commissioner Chris Epps that there were plenty more corruption investigations that would be coming to a head soon, and this may be some of what he was talking about.
Pickering’s office said in a news release that he would be in Corinth to announce criminal and civil charges against several Alcorn County officials, following a year-long investigation.
These cases may have nothing to do with the recent corruption arrests at the state level.
Pickering has said that his office is going after corruption on all levels, though, by public officials who handle your money.
