TUSCALOOSA, AL.- A Tuscaloosa man has been charged with first-degree rape and human trafficking of a Mississippi teen.
According to WCBI News, the 14-year-old girl had been reported missing out of Mississippi May 30. Following a lead from one of her family members, Tuscaloosa Police found her at the Motel 6 on McFarland Boulevard on June 15.
Police said the teen was forced to travel to Tuscaloosa, AL. A grand jury reviewed the evidence and found reason to charge Kornelius Pierre Simmons, 22, with human trafficking and first-degree rape.
Simmons is being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $120,000 bond.
