JACKSON, Miss. – If you looked forward to staying outside this weekend, you might have to change your plans. Heavy rains are expected Saturday afternoon through Sunday in central and south Mississippi.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Chad Entremont says rains could lead to possible flash flooding, but it is not likely since those area have been significantly dry. “It would take quite a bit of rainfall to cause flooding issues. It looks like most of the area could handle a couple inches of rain,” said Entremont. “Two to four inches is possible on the high end”
Rains are expected to move out of the state Sunday evening, with just a slight chance on Monday.
