Man Arrested for Trying to Sell Stolen Car on Facebook

JACKSON, Miss.- A man was arrested after trying to sell a stolen car on Facebook.

Jackson Police Department spokeswoman Colendula Green told the Clarion Ledger, Lee Clincy, 26, was arrested when found in possession of a stolen vehicle by JPD’s auto theft unit.

Clincy tried to sell a green 1999 Chevrolet Suburban that was reported stolen in May on Facebook. The owner of the vehicle saw the listing and called the police.

Detectives contacted Clincy, posing as possible buyers. They took him into custody after meeting with him in Jackson.

Clincy was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of marijuana.
