JACKSON, Miss.–It was a “medical event” during Friday’s home game at Jackson Prep that put Walker Wilbanks in the hospital. The school’s Facebook page quoted family saying that Wilbanks may have had a seizure while at the ER, and that put him in critical condition.
“Walker is in critical condition after suffering a seizure while in the ER. The Wilbanks family has asked that we relay that they are coveting all prayers, and they ask that I convey that to the Prep family,” said Facebook.

A prayer vigil was held Saturday for Wilbanks, a junior defensive tackle.
In a letter published over the weekend, the school’s administration asked for continued prayers and said they were not speculating on his condition or prognosis.
Several sources reported he may have had swelling on the brain, but that may have subsided by Sunday.
Jobborick Washington, a student at Provine High School, also in the capital city, was taken to the hospital during practice last week, reported WJTV.
The head coach there said he got dehydrated during practice and was doing well.
