LINCOLN COUNTY, Miss.–It was another big wreck on I-55, but it was cleared Thursday morning in Lincoln County. MDOT crews were working through the night to help clean up a big rig wreck, and it’s the second one to block the interstate in two days.
The wreck happened Wednesday night when an 18-wheeler carrying watermelons and other fruits swerved after a pickup cut him off. The big truck jack knifed and turned over. Two other big rigs were behind it and they were also involved in the wreck.
Nobody got hurt, but cleanup took hours. All northbound lanes were blocked.
The same kind of wreck happened Wednesday in Yazoo County when two 18-wheelers hit on I-55. Cleanup took a while and the morning commute was tight while both cleanup crews and inmates worked to get the job done.
