JACKSON, Miss.–You may have gotten a call from APA/Leads, even if you’re on the state’s No Call list. Now that company is getting a fine from the state’s Public Service Commission.
It’s $3,500 to punish the company for calling customers in “unauthorized telephone solicitations”. Public Service Commissioner for the Northern District, Brandon Presley, said in a news release that the company also failed to register with the PSC as a telephone solicitor.
As part of the settlement, APA/Leads Services will now register with the Commission. If you are on the No Call list, they cannot contact you, even though they will be a legitimate telemarketer.
If you want to get your home telephone number on the No Call list, contact the PSC at 800-356-6428 or log on to www.psc.state.ms.us/nocall .
