JACKSON, Miss. — Another person in Mississippi has gotten the West Nile virus this year according to the Mississippi State Department of Health. The person who was infected is in Rankin County. This now makes three Mississippians who have been infected this year.
Last year, 45 people were infected and five people died from the mosquito spread disease.
Remember, if you want to avoid the blood suckers wear bug repellent while you are outside and get rid of standing water around your house because that is where mosquitoes like to breed.
