The Heart Behind the Music: Nineties County Comes to Mississippi

MERIDIAN, Miss.–It might have been a while since you heard from Bryan White, but you can see him tonight in Mississippi. It’s not just a Bryan White concert. The Heart Behind the Music show at the Riley Center in Meridian also features Billy Dean, Collin Raye and Deana Carter.

You might remember White for “I’m Not Supposed to Love You Anymore” or his duets with LeeAnn Rimes. His popularity in the 90s was unmatched for a time, so much so that he walked away in 2001 after putting out a greatest hits collection.

“I just didn’t know how to say no. I just did everything,” White told News Mississippi. He said he felt like a puppet. “That’s a really vicious cycle and then you add trying to outdo your last single and trying to be better than the last record. I had to take that initiative to step away and I’m glad I did.”

White said he kept writing while he was away and was able to live from songwriting royalties.

He got back into the game in 2005 and in June 2014 release “Shine”.

He said you can expect to hear some cuts from that record in an intimate setting at the Riley Center.
You’ll hear the music in an intimate setting. White says he’ll be doing some new stuff from his record Shine.
