JACKSON, Miss. – More jobs are on the way to Mississippi. Monday, Governor Phil Bryant made stops in Hattiesburg and Water Valley to announce new economic developments in the cities.
In Hattiesburg, Wisconsin based company, Green Bay Converting is making a $48 million dollar investment which will bring 300 jobs to the city. The company makes power towels and tissue products and packages them.
In Water Valley 158 jobs are coming with the expanding of operations at BorgWarner. The company needs to fulfill an increased demand for their advanced transmission solutions. The company develops powertrains, which are components that generate power in vehicles.
“This is Borg Warner’s fourth expansion in Water Valley in the last five years, which speaks volumes about Mississippi’s supportive business environment,” Gov. Bryant said. “I thank the BorgWarner team for once again creating new jobs in our state and placing their trust in our workforce. Borg Warner is a valued member of Mississippi’s business community and an important player in our state’s automotive industry. I wish the company continued success in Water Valley.”
