JACKSON, Miss — There is a chance you will see more blue lights on the road this weekend. The Independence Day holiday enforcement period began Thursday at 6 p.m. and it ends Sunday at midnight. Troopers will be looking for looking for, drunk drivers, distracted drivers, and people that are not wearing a seatbelt. The highway patrol will also have checkpoints set up across the state.
