ABERDEEN, Miss. – A Former Monroe County sheriff deputy could spend time on the other side of the bars after admitting he punched a handcuffed suspect during an arrest in October 2012.
Danny Starks pled guilty this past week to deprivation of rights under color of law. The misdemeanor carries a sentence of up to a year in prison and/or a $100,000 fine.
According to court records, Starks responded to a domestic violence call, and after handcuffing the suspect, he spat on him and hit the man in the head and face with his fists. Starks will be sentenced July 14.
