JACKSON, Miss. – It is summer time in Mississippi, which means it is that time of the year for media outlets to remind you not to leave kids in hot cars. It is for a good reason too, it could mean life or death.
Even on cooler days, when it is around 70 degrees, temperatures inside a car can get 30 to 40 degrees warmer. When temperatures reach 104 degrees that is when people can start to develop a heat stroke. It is also important to know that a child’s body temperature rises three to five faster than an adult’s.
Remember ,if you see a child left in a car and they are distressed, get them out as quickly as possible.
