JACKSON, Miss. — Special agent in charge of the FBI of Mississippi, Dan McMullen, is retiring Friday. Before coming to Mississippi in 2009 the 57-year-old lead the violent crime branch of the FBI in New York and was in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles division.
Since McMullen has been in the Magnolia State, he has handled high profile cases that have gained national attention such as the Adam Mays kidnapping case in 2012, and the incident in Tupelo last year where a bank robber killed Tupelo police officer Gale Stauffer.
