HATTIESBURG, Miss. – A man from Detroit got an unexpected call from AAA last week. They told George Talley his 1979 Corvette, which had been stolen from a parking spot in Detroit back in 1981, had been found.
Talley told WXYZ-TV the car was sitting at a police station in Hattiesburg. He also said the car still runs and has 47,000 miles on it.
Wednesday morning General Motor’s Executive Vice President, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain Mark Reuss announced that he was offering to bring the ‘Vette home — at GM’s expense.
