JACKSON, Miss.–Grab the rain gear on the way out the door, not only today, but for the rest of the week. You’ll see good chances of afternoon type thunderstorms and some of those could be on the rough side.
“It’s looking like that through most of the work week,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Alan Campbell.
“It’s just these little disturbances moving across the upper levels of the atmosphere. You set the stage for some afternoon thunderstorms. Some of those could produce some gusty winds, some small hail and some pretty heavy downpours as well.”
Campbell said the situation is typical this time of year for Mississippi.
But, there could be some relief from the rain by the weekend.
“We’re not gonna completely do away with rain chances, but definitely hamper them more than what we saw this past weekend and a large portion of the week.”
