JACKSON, Miss. — If you had a mortgage with SunTrust Bank and lost your home to foreclosure, you may be eligible for payments under a settlement between the bank, 48 states and the federal Government.
Attorney General Jim Hood said borrowers, who encountered service abuses from SunTrust and lost their homes between 2008 and 2013, are eligible for cash payments from the $968 million settlement. Once customers have been paid the money, it clears Sun Trust of allegations that the company made loans to borrowers using misleading information and charging illegal fees.
Homeowners will be contacted by a settlement administrator to resolve their particular cases.
